I’m really pleased to be attending both days of the CIPD’s Annual Conference and Exhibition (8 and 9 Nov 2017) this year (so excited, in fact, that I have already selected my conference sessions). I’m looking forward to hearing from a wide variety of excellent speakers all working within different organisational contexts. I like to hear about others’ experiences and the challenges they’ve had along the way. It’s really interesting to hear these stories and to get different perspectives. Read more
I am delighted to be part of the Blog Squad for 2017’s CIPD L&D Show. The theme this year has really had me thinking.. Make every day a learning day. Wow! That’s a theme and a half, isn’t it?
Earlier this month I attended the CIPD Organisational Development (OD) Conference 2016. It was an insightful and interesting day. We heard from a variety of different speakers who were all kind enough to share with us their experiences and insights into the world of OD.
I was part of a two-person Blog Squad alongside Meg Peppin. Meg and I tweeted like crazy through the day and Meg also live blogged a couple of the sessions. To catch up on the shares from the day, you can check out the Twitter hashtag #cipdOD16 and blogs via Meg’s website. Read more

I arrange #LnDcowork with my colleague and friend, Michelle Parry-Slater. Michelle and I recently chatted about it as our one year anniversary came around. Here is Michelle kicking off our thinking about the past year:
June 2016 saw the first anniversary of #LnDcowork. From the germ of an idea to get freelancers away from the loneliness of home working to come together to work, we now have a small movement of people who recognise the benefits of working with like minded people.
The CIPD’s Learning and Development Show is an annual event. It is the place to hear from inspiring speakers, suppliers in the world of learning solutions / technology and the opportunity to network with fellow practitioners.
I have been attending the L&D Show for a number of years now, sometimes attending the conference & exhibition and other times just the exhibition. I think it is important as Learning Professionals that we attend such events, to take time to step away from the busy worlds we are in and to grow our knowledge and understanding of the industry.
